Hervey Bay Rooms Closure

After 20 years of consulting and operating at both Maryborough and in Hervey Bay, it is with sadness that I close my rooms In Hervey Bay. Unfortunately due to the COVID 19 pandemic, the airlines have closed many flights to the region and do not fly daily. The airline service has also become unreliable and often cancelling abruptly without notice. A further issue has been the additional COVID restrictions limiting practitioners from “hotspots” or who visit hospitals with COVID patients to attend other “clean” hospitals.

I will continue to see patients from the region and I am happy to consult or review them by Telephone, Telehealth, Zoom, FaceTime or other videoconferencing methods. Unfortunately for surgical treatment they will have to travel to Brisbane.

Thankyou for all the support over the years and I will miss the face to face consultations in Hervey Bay and the surgery at St Stephen’s Hospital, Hervey Bay. I greatly appreciate the support, hospitality and friendship extended to me whenever I have visited Maryborough and Hervey Bay.

Helen's Retirement !!

It is with great sadness to me, our practice and our patients, that our wonderful, beautiful and loyal secretary, Helen, is retiring. After 15 years of fabulous dedication and hard work to our practice and patients, Helen is retiring to spend more time with her beloved husband Paul and her large family of children and grandchildren. Helen's dedication to our patient's, her comforting ear, her patience answering many repeated questions, her understanding of their anxieties for surgery and illness, and willingness to help our patients and their relatives made Helen a truely remarkable medical secretary. Our patients and I will miss her amazing work and her counsel, dearly. Helen's dedication has extended to training for over a month, our new secretary Jo, who we welcome to the family. 

On behalf of our practice we wish Helen and Paul all the best for an exciting next phase in life. Helen has retired from our surgical practice but not from our lives.
